Since the American scholar Joseph S. Nye put forward "soft power" concept, combined with the overall trend of at peaceful development at this stage, the passed use of hard power force to conquer the world by countries is cast aside. Soft power has become an important component of a country's comprehensive national strength and it plays an important role in its foreign increasingly competitive relations with other nations. Every country pays more and more attention to their development of soft power, and competes to strengthen their own soft power. "Soft power" theory is an important concept in international politics. It is very helpful to our analysis of international relations and the realization of national interests. Study on soft power of Chinese scholars had been an early focus on the translation of soft power and evaluation of Nye's soft power theory. In recent years they shifted to China's own soft power and soft power to study issues of related field. This article begins with the general theory of soft power, forecasts the development of soft power concept, stands in the current situation of China's soft power, makes an overall assessment of China's soft power, including a number of beneficial resources of China's soft power, the problem of China's soft power and the general status in the world of China's soft power in the world, and finally puts forward some means of upgrading China's soft power. This article also takes into account the background of economic globalization and the combination of the development trend of China at this stage - the harmonious development, expands soft power is an important theoretical and has practical significance in building a harmonious socialist society , maintaining of social order , promoting social harmony and upgrading China's international status.
