The Visualization Analysis Of The Public Administration Research Based On The Bibliometrics Method

With the advent of the era of knowledge economy, and the further development of the globalization, informatization, and marketization, the practice and theory of public administration have changed greatly. PA is not only the tool to implement policy, but also the dominant power to design and carry out the frame referred to economic, political, technological and social changes. The study of administration has experienced the process of establishment, evolution, deepening and expansion, sothat develops to be a multidisciplinary, which contains theoretical connotation and practical value.Public Administration Review is acknowledged as the most influential journal about public administration. By analyzing the 2176 "Article" papers in PAR from 1975 to 2008, we find the university and its extension are absolute main force in scientific research of American administration, and co-author in public administration is very common. Based on the professional journal's interrelation, this paper also excavates and explores the internal and external knowledge structure of the subject.Measuring the research structure, Paradigm shift in administrative field is verified. Meanwhile, the research fronts of the public administration mainly concentrate on the governmental performance, local government, network governance, citizen participation, public service and E-government, especially network governance has rapid emergence and will become the new research paradigm.The result tells that bibliometric analysis and information visualization are important research approach and means. According to the basic theories including citation analysis, co-words analysis, information statistics as well as graphy theory, we can draw out the mapping knowledge domain by using the softwares, which can reveal the research structure and topic of a subject more macroscopicly and intuitively.
