Admittedly that Marx's critical theory of modernity mainly targets on capitalist society, and on the surface is completely irrelevant to socialist China, but actually, that is not the case. Examining the current society, China is in the primary stage of socialism and modernization, and its modernity is gradually spreading, so no matter it is with respect to productivity level, social culture construction, social security construction or human rights securing, China is still a far cry from western countries. With the development of modernization, many contradictions are exposed at different levels. China has paid a big price for its development, which involves resources, ecological environment, social justice and stability. What sort of modernity China should construct and what path China should follow are all burning questions. Besides, though many problems have modernity brings, its imperfection, globalization and modernization should never be denied. As a country in the process of modernization, China should actively draw on western developed countries' achievements of civilizations. Discussions on capital regulations, social justice and ethics in Marx's critical theory of modernity were used for reference by western capitalist countries to develop themselves, thus they overcome defects to a great extent, and remained active on the world stage. The thesis attempts to explore certain relevance between China's modernization process and Marx's critical theory of modernity through documents and in-depth theoretical investigation, and tries to establish a modernity development path in China that distinguishes it from that of traditional western countries in the light of Marx's critical theory of modernity, thus to build China a socialism country that both leads global trend and surpasses capitalism.
