Marx’s critical thought of modernity is the overall criticism of modern civilization based on the principle of capital, and the criticism of alienated labor is the precursor of Marx’s critical thought of modernity.Without Marx’s confirmation of the economic facts of the alienated existence of human beings under the conditions of capitalist production,it is impossible to produce a critical thought of modernity that doubts the legitimacy of modern capitalist society. Therefore,to analyze and grasp Marx’s thought of alienated labor from the perspective of modernity criticism of capital has important theoretical and epochal value for identifying the limitations of modern positive scientific thinking mode, critically grasping the alienated survival state of people in capitalist society and the operation logic of capitalist modern society.Marx did not introduce the term ’modernity’,nor did he have a clear theoretical system of modernity, but looking at the texts before and after Marx and the objects of Marx’s theoretical criticism-capital and the metaphysics of rationality-it is clear that Marx stood in the perspective of the criticism of modernity on the problem of alienated labour under the capitalist production system.Marx’s philosophical reflection on the problem of alienated labour under the capitalist system of production. From his early philosophical standpoint of self-consciousness in the search for political and human emancipation,to his inspiration from Engels to explore the alienation of human beings from the philosophy of law to the realm of civil society and political economy, and finally to complete the entire philosophical revolution of historical materialism from a practical perspective on the basis of Bernbach’s anthropological materialism,Marx brought the scientific study of history back to earth from the transcendental world of heaven, taking the reality of human beings and their state of existence as the starting point for the creation of a materialism.Marx brought the scientific study of history back from the transcendental world of the heavens to the earth, taking the reality of man and his state of being as the starting point for the creation of a materialist conception of history, and using it as the basis for a modern critique of alienated labour in capitalist society. Therefore,Marx’s idea of alienated labour cannot simply be classified as an early and immature idea.On the contrary,Marx’s idea of alienated labour should be re-examined from the perspective of the critique of modernity, which is a critique of capitalist society as a whole, and the theoretical significance of Marx’s idea of alienated labour in the post-industrial era should be explored. This article analyses Marx’s theory of alienated labour from the perspective of Marx’s critique of modernity, adheres to the analytical vision of historical materialism, and grasps the theoretical critical field of Marx’s thought on alienated labour against the background of Chinese-style modernization. In its main contents, the article firstly explores the period and theoretical background in which Marx’s idea of alienated labour was formed, and examines how Marx criticized his own idealistic ideas after encountering the confusion of material interests.Secondly,on the basis of a textual analysis of the core content of Marx’s idea of alienated labour, the article explains that Marx created his own category of criticism through the theory of alienated labour, which not only criticized the theoretical premises of national economics, but also linked the abandonment of alienated labour to the theory of communism;with the creation of the materialist conception of history,Marx’s theory of alienated labour underwent a change in research perspective, and historical evaluation began to replace The historical evaluation began to replace the moral evaluation as Marx’s central perspective for the critique of modernity. Then, the critical field of modernity of Marx’s idea of alienated labour is comprehensively explained in three dimensions:political economy criticism, philosophical criticism and historical criticism. Finally, the critical significance of the idea of alienated labour is analyzed, and the position and role of the idea of alienated labour in Marx’s critique of modernity is elaborated from a theoretical perspective;the inspiration of the idea of alienated labour for our critique of capital in the post-industrial era is clarified from a practical perspective.
