With the global trend of the aging population, much attention of the social issue of the elderly women has aroused the whole world. Women have made great contribution to the society creating the material and spiritual civilization. However because of the impact of traditional gender culture, women's survival and development have not received the attention that it deserves. Nowadays older women in China lead a poorer quality of life due to their lower level of education and inadequate basic living allowance. To Concern about the life quality of elderly women is the inevitable choice to reflect the embodiment of social equity and justice, as well as to build a harmonious family and a harmonious society. There are many factors which can affect the life quality of older women. In this paper I choose to study the social issue of older women through the perspective of social participation. In this paper, five communities of Baoding are taken as the sample to conduct research on 300 elderly women's social participation in economic activities, leisure activities and volunteer work, political activity, culture education activity, interpersonal and religious activities. The paper analyses the Related Variables'effect on elderly women's participation in social activities. It is found in the study that elderly women are with lower life satisfaction and the majority of older women are in a lonely and unhappy situation, while elderly women who take part in social activities have a higher satisfaction than those who does not. The elderly women who take part in more social activities feature in good physical condition, political landscape for the Chinese Communist Party or the democratic parties, source of income not coming from family members, extroverted character, not strong dedication to the career in the middle age and so on. This paper argues that the value recognition of the social participation of elderly women is limited, and the comprehensive recognition of elderly women should be strengthened through various means, at the same time, there should be community-based care of elderly women's lives to meet the needs of them.
