The Research About Sino-japanese Relationship Under New Geopolitics

Politics lies within in the geography. Napoleon once said," as long as had you understood one country's geography, you can judge the country's foreign policy". Although such view has the exaggeration, the geopolitics factor is one of the basic starting points to nearly all national policy-makers and the international strategic researcher when they carry on the strategic judgment. As an important category in the international politics, geopolitics displays an important influence to the world pattern for a long time, and is widely used to analyze, explain and forecasts questions in international politics and international relations cooperation, such as contradiction,conflict and so on. Along with the development and change of the world politics, the economical and the international relations, geopolitics also face the new question and the new shape, namely emerging"the geo-economy"and"the geo-culture"and so on in the traditional geopolitics system. The positive interaction among this triple aspect has provided the omni-directional theory basis for the contemporary various countries to formulate international politics strategy, the region economical strategy and the culture developmental strategy, and provide the new perspective for us to study the great nation relations.Japan is China's neighboring country and faces each other across the sea.People usually use"separated by only a strip of water"to describe China-Japan relationship, and this kind of geography relations had decided both countries generations are living together for ever. For more than 2000 years, the Chinese and Japanese friendly contact and have the indissoluble bond. With the different political system and the social economy system, China and Japan are constantly adjusting the bilateral relations following the improvement of great nation relations after the cold war. China and Japan are together in the East Asia geopolitics pattern, and without doubt will be the natural geography competitor, and the relations between the two countries inevitably suffer the influence and the restriction from the geopolitics factor. On one hand, the power contrast between China and Japan continuously is at a non-balance fluctuation condition in the history. But the time develops today; China's rapid development causes the East Asia area to appear two strong coexistences for first time. China and Japan from the government to the folk both need an extremely long psychological adjustment process to digest this result. On the other hand,China-Japan relationship has certain possibilities through cooperation sharing geography space.This article will namely embarks from the analysis geopolitics theory, and bring China-Japan relationship into the theoretical framework of the new geopolitics to analyze the reason of the development and change, and to propose the strategic suggestion for the benign interaction of the bilateral relations in the future. The whole article spreads out exposition through following several parts:The first part is the outline of the geopolitics theory. This part mainly lays the theoretical foundation for the full text, to analyze its connotation and the challenge which geopolitics faces, thus to draw out that the geopolitics unceasingly supplements the new content and transforms the new perspective, namely emerging"the geo-economy"and"the geo-culture"and so on in the traditional geopolitics system. This will become the basic perspective to analyze the present situation and the trend of China-Japan relationship in the following text.The part from the second to the fourth is the key point to this article, separately from three aspects, such as the geopolitics, the geo-economy and the geo-culture, to elaborate the present situation of China-Japan relationship. Without considering in which field, China and Japan both need each other through the cooperation to share geography space and to seek the benefit maximization, simultaneously they both face the difficult problem which still remains unresolved and to a certain extent obstructs the benign development of China-Japan relationship.The fifth part is the stay point of this article. Through analyzing the present situation of China-Japan relationship, this part will discuss the possible trend of Sino-Japanese relationship, and bring China-Japan relationship into the theoretical framework of the new geopolitics, and propose the strategic geopolitics suggestion for the benign interaction of the bilateral relations in the future.
