A Study On The "Democratic Taiwan Independence" In Taiwan's Political Transition

ABSTRACT:Taiwan is an inalienable part of the inviolable territory of China. Settlement of the Taiwan issue and realization of the complete reunification of China are a common aspiration of the Chinese people and embody the fundamental interests of the Chinese nation. But while accompanying the political transition,an adverse tide has been spreading which means to divide Taiwan from her motherland. By virtue of the chance of Taiwan democratization, "Taiwan independence" forces are engaged in the evil activities, resulting in the distortion and alienation of Taiwan democracy. "Democratic Taiwan independence"becomes the core strategy of "Taiwan dependence" forces and the new feature of Taiwan political activities in the new period.To study the problem of "democratic Taiwan independence" during the political transition in Taiwan is of theoretical significance in judging Taiwan democracy and practical significance in developing cross-straits relations and promoting peaceful reunification of the motherland.The study is guided by the Marxism and CCP's principles and policies at this stage. Because Taiwan issue is a key problem of theoretical and practical characterstics,the thesis has a strong policy guidance and some suggestions and countermeasures are put forward to develop cross-straits relations.
