Taiwan is one part which can not be separated from China. But one of the most obvious characteristics in 2004 campaign in the island is so-called increasing "subjective consciousness" and the population considering the two sides of the strait as two nations becomes more and more. So I conclude that the political identification of Taiwan's population is variating.At present, the analyses to the changes of political identification in Taiwan made by Chinese academia are from the perspectives of politics economics and law. These analyses are valuable. However, most of them are synchronic presentation of variations of political identification in Taiwan and there is almost no diachronic study from historical dimension. Therefore, it is difficult for above study to understand the basic reasons for the evolution of political identification in Taiwan. In this paper, I will synchronically analyze the nationalism in Taiwan from standpoint of the political culture and use nationalism to find the basic reasons for the evolution of political identification in Taiwan.Firstly, I will use long duration theory of Fernand Braudel who is one of the representative thinkers in Annales School.
