On Model Combing Unification And Stratification For College Ideological And Political Education

The current economical and political situation in the world provides both opportunities and enormous challenge to the college ideological and political education. In such an increasingly open and pluralistic backdrop, people's thoughts are also freed from the shackles of the planned economy and their subjectivity is continually expanding. However, in the sphere of ideological and political education research, two tendencies have risen. One does not keep pace with the times, and continues over the past blunt "one size fits" approach, leading to ineffective education. Another tendency adds too much emphasis on the subjectivity of the students and engaged in purely stratified education and self-education, leading to uncertainty in the direction of ideological and political education.Considering these two tendencies, this article builds a model combing unification and stratification for college ideological and political education, designed to absorb the essence and get rid of the dross of both unified education and stratified education, and to point out a specified direction for college ideological and political education. Though the concept and practice of combing unification and stratification has a very long history and exists in both eastern and western world, no one has digged out the essence and applied it to ideological and political education. The model combing unification and stratification for college ideological and political education is based on the relationship between universality and particularity of contradiction in dialectical materialism, having its own distinctive features and advantages. The article points out the basic principles, connotation and characteristics of this model, comes up with the methods and means to build it, and further gives it a confirmation through case study.
