The Design And Evaluation Of The On-line Course Of The Star Test

The Star Test is a test which helps students to improve their English listening and speaking skills. Nowadays, more and more students are taking part in this test. Unfortunately, there is no corresponding online course or exercises.This passage discussed the research on the children's spoken English and the web-based courseware, and outlined the meaning of designing a web-based courseware for the Star Test. Such kind of courseware will complete this research field.The author interviewed the teachers to learn the rules and the main contents of the Star Test. Under the guidance of the instructional design, the author design such a courseware, constructing the basic sections and designing the contents of the course. After the sample was finished, questionnaires were sent to the students to help the author to do the evaluation job. The author analyzed the data of the research, and hope to do the revise job of the courseware according to the outcome of this research. The outcome of the research showed that most students and their parents could accept such a kind of courseware. They liked the learning style and the way of practicing. The courseware was helpful to them.
