With the development of Chinese sports industry and the deepening of all-people body-building work, to satisfy consumer demand for sports and to construct a reasonable and orderly sports consumer market has become an important subject in the sport fried. Especially the table tennis, as the "national sport", because of the large number of participants, has a huge potential consumer market. Based on this situation, according to questionnaires, expert interviews and other research methods, this paper selected the 8 city of China about 400 table tennis participants to carry on the questionnaire survey, systematical analyzed the consumer's present situation, the consumption level, the consumer motivation and the expense influencing factor, and put forward feasible suggestions.The empirical results show that the city table tennis consumer groups has a large population and imbalanced community characteristic, with the present situation that the masculine expense investment is higher than the female and the majority of consumers are 20-50 years olds. Although table tennis has a large population in China, the overall level of consumption is not high and the annual consumption is less than 1000 yuan accounted for more than 60%. The occupation distribution takes the administration personnel and the professionals as the main body, and the consumer motivation is in turn the health, the interest and the entertainment. As for consumption factors, economic factors are no longer the primary factor affecting the consumption, and personal and social factors have become the led factors. Age, education, sport consumer attitudes and economic development in the region are also affecting the public consumption.Considering the findings and the inherent characteristics of table tennis in China, we should make full use of the policy and publicity, guide the public table tennis consumption form the extensive to the intensive one, develop related products to meet the public demand for table tennis and improve the service quality of table tennis. In the near future, table tennis consumption is still in the main type of physical consumption. However, along with the intensification of China's aging society, the tendency of participation consumer groups will certainly to the aging. This will be a new important issue ahead of sports researchers.
