Chinese Contemporary Youth Sub-culture: A Survey Of The Post-80s' Cultural Values Orientation

Youth sub-culture of youth group is a system of their own value concepts and behavior patterns, which is different from the mainstream culture, or even opposed to official culture. The 20th century, or even the 21st century is an era of youth who can not be ignored. Youth sub-culture, as a cultural phenomenon of universal significance, is causing more and more attention from scholars. Indeed, youth groups demonstrate its existence with his distinctive cultural characteristics in every corner of the world and in every stratum of social life. After China's opening up policy,Chinese people's minds become more active and more diversified, entertainment culture and consumer culture become popular. Post-80s, as a sensitive group, they are more receptive to the impact of Western ideas, and their thoughts are relatively active. Their expected material life and spiritual aspirations refresh ancient civilization of china in the background of reform and opening up. This thesis tries to analyze the essence of Chinese contemporary youth sub-culture in the perspective of post-80s this special group's living situation and cultural values, and discusses social and cultural reasons of the formation and development of Chinese contemporary youth sub-cultures In Chinese social and cultural background, it is helpful for better understand Chinese youth sub-culture characteristics and developing trend to study the reasons for the formation and development of the contemporary youth sub-culture and its impact on mainstream culture, and to determine the correct role position and function of Chinese contemporary youth. Therefore, from cultural study perspective, the study about Chinese contemporary youth sub-culture analysis and research is an extremely valuable work.This thesis adopting sub-culture perspective, taking cultural relativism as basic theoretical basis, using Maslow's hierarchy needs theory as a reference, and through the method of questionnaire, explores and analyzes the true living situation and cultural values orientation of Chinese contemporary youth.
