Student residence is a major "habitat" for College students living and studying, it has a far-reaching impact on the effectiveness of higher education. The student residence of college as the product of China's higher education was born at nineties of last century, after more than 10 years of construction and development, it has reached a large scale, and made remarkable achievements, but it also exposed a series of problems.Student residence investment patterns affect all aspects of student residence building, and managing, throughout the whole story. This article researched the investment patterns of student residences, and traced the origin of it, then by sorting out all connections of all relevant stakeholders, we summarized three major patterns: the first, independent investment patterns; second, mixed investment patterns; third, University City investment patterns, in the angle of divers student residence investors and in the background of the long-term development of higher education. The mode of social investment is good, the college students of the apartment investment mode of mainstream investment;mixed mode of economic performance is more, and have strong risk of capacity to bear, the college students of the apartment investment mode of the main trend;the mode of the university has focused on competitive advantage and the government's a lot of input and support of the better economic performance, but in the input minus its social consequences. the comprehensive social and economic benefits and risks for the ability to three factors, the author thinks that investing in mixed mode from three aspects of the general public, it is worth promoting.In the process of research, by field surveying, we found out the current student residence investment situation of our province; by reading literatures, we classified different types of students residence investment, and had a thorough description of them; then by establishing a estimating models and gathering data, we made a comparison on the economic benefit of two typical program between independent investment patterns and mixed investment patterns; at last, through qualitative methods, and combined the character of different types of students residence investment, we made a thorough analyses and comparison of possible investment risk in different kinds of student residence investment.
