Because the obsolete mode of the college entrance examination came to the consequences that students are over-burdened, narrow scope of knowledge, lack of comprehensive ability and quality, it was enforced to reform the college entrance examination. The Comprehensive Subject of the College Entrance Examination was born on this background. Since the Guangdong province first tried out the"3+X"College Entrance Examination reform scheme, the Comprehensive Subject of the College Entrance got on the stage of history. The purpose of setting Comprehensive Subject in the College Entrance Examination is to solve the problems such as placing undue emphasis on the proportion of students entering schools of a higher level, exam-oriented education, and to improve students'comprehensive abilitiy, lighten the heavy burden of homework, emphasize on the care of students'individuality, encourage quality education. But after many years' practice we still found that because the exam objective is not clear enough, the test content is too narrow, the exam is too difficult, the Comprehensive Subject Examination has no effect on relieving the students of their heavy burden of homework. It also acts unsuccessfully on leading the students to broaden their scope of knowledge independently, and then to improve their comprehensive abilities. As one of the necessary contents of the college entrance examination, the Comprehensive Subject is good or bad, relates the college entrance examination is scientific or not. So the optimization research on the Comprehensive Subject Examination is extremely urgent and imperative. On the base of learning from the advanced experience of Comprehensive Subject Examination mode in developed regions, the research will use both qualitative and quantitative way to analyze and optimize the Comprehensive Subject Examination of the College Entrance Examination in China from the dimensionalities of test objective, test content and test technique.The paper mainly consists of six parts: the first part is introduction, summarizing the significance and methods of the research, including raising question, the definition of related concepts, literature review and the ways of thinking and research methods. The second part is about the history of the Comprehensive Subject Examination of the College Entrance Examination in China and the necessity of reforming it. The third part is mainly aimed at revealing the revelation from the overseas typical Comprehensive Subject Examination modes for our Comprehensive Subject Examination, based on the analysis of Comprehensive Subject Examination modes in the USA, Japan and China Taiwan with the literature investigating method and comparative method. We find that our Comprehensive Subject Examination must find out a new exam objective which is more suitable for our country, at the same time we should broaden the test content, decrease the test difficulty of the Comprehensive Subject. In the fourth part, on the base of finding out the problems of the current exam objective, we will optimize our Comprehensive Subject Examination's objective. Testing the students'scope of basic knowledge should be the most important objective. In the fifth part, we will optimize the test content of the comprehensive subject examination, by using the polls and Delphi method to draw a conclusion on the subject coverage and the proportion of each subject of the Comprehensive Subject Examination(including 15% physics, 15% chemistry, 15% biology, 15% politics, 15% history, 15% geography, 5% P.E., 5% general living knowledge). The sixth part, we will optimize the test techniques of the Comprehensive Subject combining the Item Response Theory (IRT). We find that the key of optimizing the test techniques is to decrease the test difficulty. Meanwhile, we will use the game theory to analyze the students'study-action when facing the Comprehensive Subject Examination before and after optimization, in order to provide theoretical and realistic foundation for the result of the optimized Comprehensive Subject Examination of the College Entrance Examination in China.
