To meet the information society development, China has decided to open information technology class in primary and secondary schools and encouraged teachers to teach students by information technology methods in all classes.Interactive whiteboard technology is a good method for geographic class in high schools. In this paper, we studied on application of interactive whiteboard in geographic class of high school and explored the effective teaching strategies and methods in Shanghai Qingpu High School. The application and development of information technology in high schools can speed up the new curriculum reform of high schools.In current teaching of high school geographic class, teachers and students interacted are insufficient and the traditional courseware is not rigid. To resolve these problems, I created a series of teaching resources, developed database and created a variety of interactive by using the interactive whiteboard technology. I studied problems of interactive whiteboard technology using in high school geographic class systematically.The main results obtained in this work are summarized as follows:1. The differences between the white board and the traditional multimedia technology were studied. And the advantages of interactive whiteboard functions, such as the functional effects and library functions were applied first in geographic class.2. The difficulties of teaching were resolved through using the interactive functions of interactive whiteboard. Geographic class applications of interactive whiteboard in high school were studied by using teaching examples, which obtained a very good effect and a very good guide for teacher's class teachings.3. The effects of interactive whiteboard on teaching strategies and classroom interactions were analyzed and new instructional designs were designed. Geographic classes that suited for using of interactive whiteboard were summarized in practice.4. Important problems of interactive whiteboard on the application of geography teaching in high school were summarized and resolved, which will guide for the development of whiteboard technology.
