The modernization of the 21st century needs hundreds and millions of applied talents with both professional quality and humanistic quality. Vocational high school shoulders the heavy responsibility of training future high-quality workers. Chinese composition teaching has unique advantage in training students' humanities and comprehensive abilities. However, in recent years, as college enrollment and high school's popularity, the overall quality of students in secondary vocational schools has decreased. Composition teaching in secondary vocational schools is troubled into the plight of teaching inefficiency.This paper aims at finding out the problems in composition teaching by investigating the current status of composition teaching. Based on the students'cognitive characters and ability, and combined with the teaching environment and teachers'actual situation, it thinks about and explores the effective teaching of composition teaching in vocational schools. It focuses on the following three aspects:1. establish the quality concept; 2. improve the teacher's quality; 3. carry out effective teaching strategies. According to these, it explores the way of improving the effectiveness of composition teaching in secondary vocational schools.
