The sports curriculum is the important component of the teaching in ordinary colleges and universities. It plays a vital role in cultivating the students'lifelong sports consciousness. Along with an upsurge in the body-building for the whole people, more and more people are aware of the importance of sports, which increases difficulties in sports teaching. The sports curriculum is classified into two categories:the sports dominant curriculum and the sports recessive curriculum. The former can't realize the sports objective satisfactorily now while the latter is just an important supplement to it and also an indispensible part of the sports curriculum. The sports recessive curriculum refers to the sum total of sports cultural element, which is designed normally, displayed indirectly and recessively in colleges and universities according to the educational objective and the aim of schools. This curriculum can arouse the students'interest in study, help them understand and absorb the dominant one and complete the teaching better.By means of investigating the current situation of the sports recessive curriculum of Changchun colleges and universities, the study employs the research methods of document data, mathematical statistics and logic analysis to have discovered some problems in them. First of all, the sports teachers in Changchun colleges and universities are short of understanding to the sports recessive curriculum. Next, in respect of material culture, there exist the problem of incomplete varieties of sports equipment, the problem of insufficient quantities of sports equipment, the problem of imperfect facilities and the problem of sports gyms which can't meet the needs of students. Once again, in terms of mental culture, students think that their teachers'patience with them is exactly the teachers'quality neglected by themselves. The teaching styles and behaviors of the sports teachers of Changchun colleges and universities need improving. Also, there are other problems in the teaching process, such as the monotonous teaching method, the non-novel teaching medium and the parrot-fashioned teaching style. The monotonous teaching methods make physical education dull and students short of enthusiasm in learning. The non-novel teaching media can't create good atmosphere. And these are what the students think the teachers lack, too.The communication between teachers and students is always a popular problem and a very important one. How to be the students'good teachers and helpful friends and how to exchange different roles each other are the new tasks raised for the sports teachers in modern times.The leaders of colleges and universities in Changchun have not paid enough attention to the sports curriculum and not invested sufficiently to meet the needs of sports teaching, which makes the sports funds short. The leaders of every college and university have not realized the importance of sports education. So they must change themselves in their basic ideas and improve their cognition to the sports curriculum. Doing like this for them is beneficial to the development of sports recessive curriculum.The study has discovered some deficiencies in the sports recessive curriculum by surveying it and makes some suggestions to implement the sports recessive curriculum in Changchun smoothly. These are just for reference.
