In order to meet the needs of society development, especially sports professionals, our country set up undergraduate social sports major since1996, the training objective of the major is to foster the students to acquire basic social sports theoretical knowledge and skills, which can make them take up with the organization management, consulting guidance, business development as well as teaching and scientific research in social sports fields and to be senior specialized talents, with the development of this major, universities have expanded their enrollments dramatically., which leads to increase the number of graduates, but the lack of the needed sports talents leads to sharp contrast to the this, that is, shortage situation in social swimming instructor and swimming lifeguard have not got real changeThe realization of cultivating the talents comes from the courses for social sports major students, swimming lessons needed not only swimming skills, but also comprehensive ability, fostering the society needed swimming instructor, swimming lifeguard, swimming pool management personnel, promoting social sports major students’ employment.This paper used document, questionnaire, interviewing and mathematical statistics methods to study colleges and universities in Bei jing-Tianjin-Hebei region, such as Beijing Sport University, Capital Institute of Physical Education, North China institute of science and technology and so on,14colleges and universities in total,especially the present situation of curriculum setting and implement, hope to improve the students’ ability of swimming instruction, solve the contradiction between social demand and the students’ ability, provide theoretical basis for social sports major curriculum reform, the conclusions are as following(1) There is a high demand for swimming lifeguard. they are swimming professionals and need to be familiar with operation and management in swimming complex as well as water treatment. swimming course of social sports major requires certain swimming skills, but what is more important is to cultivate students’ ability to use knowledge (2) Swimming course of social sports major should put the practice curriculum as the main body, the theory course as a supplement. the practice curriculum is not only swimming skills, but also consist of life saving skills, teaching ability; the theory course should include the basic principle of swimming, swimming safety and health knowledge, swimming competition organization and the referee method, swimming social guidance ability, swimming pool water treatment and so on(3) Assessment contents of swimming course of social sports major should include swimming level, practical ability, basic theory, learning attitude four aspects(4) When students attend primary swimming lifeguard test and primary swimming social instructor test, low swimming technique level is the main reason for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, and at the same time, which also make students lack confidence in practical work...
