One main content of the eighth curriculum reform carried out in 2001 is to transform "syllabus" into "curriculum standard". The compiling principle has also transformed from one-textbook-one-syllabus to many-textbook-one-syllabus. The course structure has been changed from fully-adopted national curriculum to 80% national curriculum,20% regional curriculum and school-base curriculum. Regional and school-base curriculums are developed by local teaching and research authorties and schools according to local conditions. Therefore, new demands are put forward for teachers' textbook research. Teachers are not the excutor of the curriculum., but the judge and developer. According to revelant resources I have referred to, teachers are still an executor of textbooks, which are considered an authority to be used. The accomplishment of course reform must be dependent on teachers. Thus the key to succeed in reforming the course is to enhance teachers'ability of researching textbooks.According to the analysis of teachers'current conditions, based on seven dimensions in the process analysis and ability assessment of teachers employing the textbooks by Shi Ningzhong and Kong Fanzhe.Seven dimensions are as follows. First, teachers'acquaintance and assessment of course contents and aim demands designated in Curriculum Standards. Second, teachers' acquaintance with this textbook's contents, structures and compiling features. Third, teachers' appropriateness and effectiveness when they design their teaching plans based upon the textbooks. Fourth, teachers'appropriateness when they treat textbook's advantanges and disadvantages in practical teaching. (including augmentation, substitution and restructure, ect, and the effectiveness of course aims.) Fifth, teachers'performance of textbooks'potential function. Sixth, teachers' appropriateness of employing supplmentary course resources. Teachers who teach the same subject in one grade prepare lessons collectively based on one unit. Seventh, combined with the textbooks'use, teachers'self-consciousness and ability of assessing the textbooks. Meanwhile, teachers make full use of textbooks'information, gather and arrange relevant assessing information, further employing the textbooks to accumulate crucial resources, especially to put forward revising opinions and suggestions according to textbooks'defects and problems.From three aspects of pre-teaching, while-teaching and post-teaching, this study deciding small subjects as main media, combined with the method of statics and dynamics, such as the methods of decumentation, observation, investigation, content analysis, etc. will respectively research collective preparation for lessons, collective lesson research, one lesson with heterogeneous forms, class observation, students'self-study research, teaching reflection and school-base course, etc. this study will attempt to professionalize the teachers'regular teaching work., thus demonstrating the effectiveness. Fequently used in this study are content analysis and experimental comparison. When comparing different versions of textbooks, I make a full analysis of educational documents, textbooks, class teaching, audio-visual textbooks, visual aids, students' response, students' drills and even particular education, ect. In the same lesson with heterogeneous forms, I make use of experimental comparison method, namely, to select the same sample valuable to compare and contrast, to compare and analyse it in the form of experiments, thus deciding which factors contribute to the differences. This study will be elaborated by taking examples of teachers growth in ChangChun DG School. The first reason why I choose it is that Dongguang School has been attaching great importance to teaching research. The awareness of researching textbooks is early and the ability is increasing quickly. The second reason is that the teaching ability is generally average or above in Changchun, which can act as a representative. The experience and achievements can be used for reference by the majority of schools. The third reason is that I not only work as a teacher, but also take charge of teaching and research in DG School. Those mentioned above are an advantage for me to summarize the experience of teachers researching textbooks.Demonstrated by lots of facts, researching small subjects contributes greatly to enhancing teachers'ability of preparing, assessing, and teaching the textbooks, as well as developing the school-base course, thus helping teachers'professional development.
