Reading is one of the most important ways to absorb the language material, enlarge the knowledge of language and gain the important information for the readers, and it is also an important means to obtain language input. Therefore, it is obvious that reading plays an important role in teaching reading. However, the students'reading ability is not quite impressive. The research on the Reading strategies will reveal the inherent law of reading process and help students with better use of the students'reading strategies, improve their reading efficiency and reading skills. This paper is mainly doing action research on how to enhance students'awareness of reading strategies, how to train students improve their English reading ability so as to improve English reading comprehension and train the efficient readers, which has been concerned by the first-line teachers all the time.So I made two classes of Grade Two in Jilin Tian Jiabing Senior School the research objects, and did some action research by the way of questionnaires, interviews and other methods of reading strategies. Meanwhile, I started two-month training in reading strategies, which proved a certain result.The result shows that the training of reading strategies can help students to change the concept of reading, improve the awareness of reading strategies effectively, enhance English reading comprehension ability and reach the target of improving English reading comprehension ultimately.This paper is divided into five chapters:Chapter One:Introduction. Aiming at the problems found in the study of reading comprehension. I found the importance of training students to master the reading strategies, and come up with the main issues to resolve and the analysis assumption. At the same time, I emphasize the importance of reading strategies and do this action research on the subject and object.Chapter Two:Literature review. To provide a theoretical support with the related theories.The theories includes learning strategies, reading strategies, reading domestic and foreign policy of reading.Chapter Three:Action research. In this paper, I adapted this method of action research, which investigated and analyzed the usage of reading strategies in reading comprehension and the relationship between the scores of reading strategies and the reading strategies of success.I targeted to students for a two-month of effectively reading training. As the scholar Hu Guodong (1998) considers, "when the students reach a certain level of English, we should teach them some reading strategies to help readers to have a clear understanding in the reading process, which can improve their reading ability." This part introduced the basis of action research, research methods, the implementation plan and the specific process of the action research in details.Chapter Four:Data analysis.1. Analyze the average of different strategies; 2. Analyze how often the students use reading strategies; 3. Analyze the difference of the strategic use of the situation between high-score and low-score students; 4. Analyze the reading test results before and after training.Chapter Five:Conclusions and reflection. It includes three parts:Findings, limitations of this action research and putting forward some relevant improvements which aims at making progress in reading.
