The teaching of instrumental music is one of the basic fashions in music teaching which is unique and important. So instrumental music teaching was listed in the teaching syllabus by national education committee as an important part of primary and secondary music teaching. When the time of quality education, instrumental music should be recommend to primary and secondary school class. It can not only inspire the interest of students (that of primary and middle school) to learn the instrument, but also be of importance to train the creative mind and to culture a healthy personality, and it is not only an important methods of learning music and performance music, but also an important way to develop their intelligence. However, it is now difficult to put in practice of the instrumental music teaching, especially in primary and middle school. This is not only because some impersonal conditions induced by the society and the school environment, but also resisted by some parents. Confront this situation, importance of instrumental music teaching should be correctly understand and affirm, the resistances during puting in practice should be analysed and researched objectively, and the way to resolve obstacles and difficulties should be found out. Based on personal experience in music teaching, the paper affirmed completely the important significance of instrumental music teaching, represented the obstacles and difficulties, and put forward effective teaching way and resolve solution. These are expected to have potential effect in changing current adverse situation and promoting the development of the teaching of instrumental music.
