Study On Social Service Function Of Local Universities

The local universities have already become the important components of higher education. How should Local universities fully develop their social service function and become real social service station in order to take up magnificent missions. This subject has attracted universal concern by the staff of higher education. Systematic study on social service function of local universities has some theoretical and practical significance which helps local universities to play their role in the process of social service and make contributions to economic development and social progress.This thesis analyzes the situations and main problems of social service of local universities. On one hand, the article summarizes the current situations of social service of local universities. For example, the consciousness of social service has increased. The fields of social service are expanding and the forms of social service are unceasingly rich. The economic and social benefits of social service gradually improve. On the other hand, the article analyses the main problems of social service of local universities. For example, there is a deviation in the concept of social services. High-level personnel and intellectual resources of social service are scarce. The achievements in scientific research directly serving for social development are less. The types of social service platform are less. The organizational and operational mechanism of social service is poor. The marketing work of social service is not good. Bedides, in the process of social service of local universities there are some problems of local government, local enterprises and macro-policy. The article makes a brief analysis of this.On this basis, this thesis proposes some measures and suggestions to improve the social service function of local universities. To aim at the main problems of social service of local universities, on one hand, the article puts forward some measures to enhance the social service function of local universities. Namely the local universities should break down conceptual barriers of social service, construct "talent - achievements - platform" trinity social service system, improve the organizational and operational mechanism of social service, and implement marketing strategy of social service. The article also points out some problems that the local university should pay attention to in social service. On the other hand, the article proposes matching measures to improve social service function of local universities. Namely the local government should build an information platform for social service of local universities. The local enterprises should change their concept and conduct production-teaching-research cooperation with local universities. And there should be a favorable macro-policy environment for the social service of local universities.
