To inspire and cultivate students'interest is one important strategy for both teaching and learning, especially the case for composition teaching, because only when students have the strong desire to express themselves will they obtain a sense of self pursuit from the bottom of their heart, and eventually improve their ability in writing. Thus how to inspire and cultivate student interest in writing has become the top concern for teachers. But the current state of composition teaching is sort of in a dilemma:on the one hand, due to the flourishing of studies in composition teaching, new teaching methods, new ideas and new teaching modes are always appearing; on the other hand, the level of middle school student writing ability is very low, and students lack passion when they are writing, and they don't represent real feelings and experiences, and what they write is commonly without contents, dull and drab, sometimes nonsensical. Judging from this, the inspiration and cultivation of middle school student interest in composition writing is of high theoretical and practical value, and it will help teachers to grasp the major issue in teaching, especially the problems and reasons of their teaching strategy, thus teachers might change their teaching ideas and enhance their composition teaching level. This study will provide effective teaching strategies and guidelines, promoting teachers'professional development and students' learning strategies.Till now, there have been a number of studies on how to inspire and cultivate student interest in composition teaching, but most of students are still bother by composition currently. Against this background, the author holds that there is space to improve in this filed, and a study in this filed will be a highlight in composition teaching reform.The thesis intends to start with the current state of student composition, and focus on the elements that influence and confine student interest, then offer solutions to this problem. The purpose of this thesis is to change the current state of middle school student writing, inspire and cultivate their interest through comprehensive study and practice. The thesis is conducted also with an view to provide some revelation for middle school teaching training.In the process of the study, the author incorporates his teaching experience and the real state of student writing, and puts forward some feasible methods to deal with the writing issue.
