The proposition of the composition is an important topic of composition teaching researches in the middle school. It is closely relevant to the effect of the composition whether the composition proposition is appropriate or not. An appropriate topic can stimulate students'motives to write with clear train of thought; on the contrary, if the topic is inappropriate and detached from students'reality, it must be difficult for students to write. Even though they rack their brains, they will miss the point. Therefore, their expressing ability can not be improved. At the same time, we should take what topic to present, what aims to achieve and the arrangement of the sequence of the aims into an all-round consideration. Otherwise, we will fall into duplication and inefficient position. The proper proposition is one of the important conditions of students writing good compositions.The composition proposition should be the chief segment of composition teaching. However, for a long time, very few researches have been made about composition proposition in teaching. It has become the tasks of some specialists and scholars. Very few on-front teachers concern with it. Through investigation and analysis, the writer found that the existence questions in current composition proposition in senior middle schools are: simply following examination papers, unclear aims of composition writing training, detaching from reality of students and life, the narrowness of contents,monotonous form and the shortage of teachers'composition proposition abilities, etc.Rethinking the present condition of current composition proposition teaching in middle schools and analyzing the causes of scarcity of composition proposition researches, the writer argued that the causes are:the guiding of college entrance examination composition proposition, the shortage of the construction of composition textbooks and the misplacement of composition proposition research idea and the shortage of research abilities of on-front teachers. According to broad Chinese concept and New programmes idea, the writer analyzed the relevant principles of composition proposition. Combining with her own teaching practice, the writer attempts to make researches of composition proposition from the point of view of school-based teaching. The writer proposed some well-established strategies and suggestions to integrate compositions with life, improve composition teaching, stimulate students'writing interest and improve their writing ability.The thesis is composed of four parts. Introduction introduces the research questions: the presentation of the research questions, literature review, the definition of terms and research methods and approaches. Chapter One illustrates the present condition and the causes of existence questions of composition proposition in senior middle schools; Chapter Two illustrates the common principles of composition proposition; Chapter Three illustrates the strategies of the practical results composition proposition, of the combination of reading and writing, of constructing composition training system, of school daily life experience, social life and time spirit, of culture of area and of literary style based on writing basic abilities training. The Conclusion concerns with the research qualities of teachers of Chinese, and rethinks the writer's own teaching practice.
