Employment is the basis of people for living. Since China's reform and open to the outside world, its higher education has achieved rapid development. China's higher vocational education has already become the very important part of its higher education because of the rapid development for over ten years. Because China's higher vocational Education's history is not longer and colleges are lack of experiences, higher vocational college graduates have many problems referring to employment target level, fitting rate in specialty, employment success index, starting salary rate, demission rate and so on, which makes the employment competitiveness of higher vocational graduates can not be fully manifested. As high-skilled talents, higher vocational college graduates face greater pressure than postgraduates and undergraduates, which make the employment of higher vocational college graduates to be the focus and difficult point of higher vocational education. It has attracted wide attention of the society.This paper systematically analyzes the connotation of employment competitiveness of higher vocational college graduates. Through a survey of higher vocational college graduates'employment situation, this paper analyzes its main features:lower employment target level,lower fitting rate in specialty, lower employment success index, lower starting salary, higher demission rate and so on. According to the present situation, this paper discusses the reasons of low employment competitiveness of higher vocational college graduates, such as the disproportion of supply and demand, imperfect talent training mode, old fashion employment concept, effects of social environment on employment of higher vocational college graduates. Meanwhile, by using experience on vocational education and employment guidance at home and abroad for reference, based on the basic motive force and key factors of graduate employment that is employment competitiveness of graduates, this paper puts forward the measures of improving the employment competitiveness. It suggests that training the employment competitiveness should be the focal point, and presents some training strategy as follows:Firstly, strengthening the national policy's guide and furthering the construction of talent training system. Secondly, creating the vocational supervising method and accelerating the construction of employment service system. Thirdly, transferring the employment concept and accumulating the practical experience and improving the competitiveness. Fourthly, overall planning for the economic development and expanding the employment space with transformation and upgrading.
