With the transformations of employment system and the college expansion, employment situations for college graduates have been changed a lot.It led to social conflicts between difficult employment and the lacking of talents in some posts, because most of graduates’s capacity and quality can not satisfy the need of new jobs. One of the most important way for solving this conflict is to adjust the graduates’ capacity and quality promptly and effectively, in order to fit the need of relevant posts preferably. At present,professional vocational training which has been carried out by educational institutions is an important way to solve this social problem and improve employment competence of college graduates.The paper analyzed employment difficulties and its reasons on the basis of summarizing and analyzing relevant researches of vocational training at home & abroad and employment competitiveness,taking human capital theory and SWOT strategic analysis as theoretical guidance. It did empirical analysis based on Ambow Newer in Changsha, and did descriptive analysis for its training status and employment rates, employment intension and the salary. It reflected the influence of employment competitiveness of college graduates from three aspects. It associated vocational training with employment competitiveness by SWOT strategic management analysis method. Then,it grasped strengths and weaknesses, opportunity and challenge.Finally, the paper raised some suggestions about how to improve employment competitiveness under the background of professional cultivation, and pointed out that we should draw lessons of vocational training from abroad. In the field of vocational training institutions, we need to set up management system to ensure training quality, and create new model of vocational training in order to connect with labor market. As to college, it should be back feeding education with training. As to enterprise, it is necessary to transform the concept of appointing officials and give full play to intermediary service organization. As to graduates, it is important to acquaint themselves with vocational training with life-long education, and give rein to vocational training in the process of job seeking. It plays a helpful role in assisting vocational training to improve employment competitiveness of college graduates, and promote sustainable development of employment of graduates.
