Major is the elementary unit of Vocational college training pelople for profession ,and working is the purpose of Vocational Education;so paying attention to the development of vocational education calls for attention to the working status of graduates in higher vocational colleges. According to the Max report, there is no restriction on their major when some profession (position) men are recruited, such as salesman,marketing and service staff and office clerk.Of course this is consistent with the daily experience,and browsing some recruitment websites can get the same conclusion. Why do these positions set no professional restrictions on practitioners?After rule out and neglect the impact of supply and demand, this study assumes that higher Vocational colleges graduates engaged in some corresponding profession(position) did not show obvious advantages; and based on this assumption, taking the major of marketing as an example the research is carried out.The researcher first reviewed the relevant research, some of which have pointed out that salesmen with marketing education_background or not in the steel industry and the insurance industry perform equally. This research also conducted questionnaire surveys of employers and higher vocational graduates majoring in marketing. The survey data was processed and analysed, the result shows that when engaging in sales work ,compairing with graduates from other major ,graduates Higher Vocational colleges majoring in marketing do better in theory, have stronger sense of identity and show more job dedication;but they do the same in sales skills,achievement motivation and need the same time being competent for a new sale job.The study also analysed and explored the reasons of the results. Combined the literature study with the investigation results , the researcher draws a conclusion that the graduates of higher vocational colleges majoring in marketing are not competitive when they are engaged in sales work. Based on this conclusion,this paper discusses the related issues, such as the effectiveness of vocational school as the main body of the profession (position) men training, the attractiveness of vocational education and employment and vocational education interaction.In order to enhance the employment competitiveness of graduates of higher vocational colleges majoring in marketing,and to solve China's relating issues on profession (position) man training ,the study introduced the experience of marketing education of American colleges by using the comparative research method;these experience including valuing general education and improving the occupation guidance system.At the same time the German vocational education pattern is briefly introduced and then its advantages are analyzed to train the profession (position) men .Finally ,to improve the employment competitiveness of graduates of higher vocational majoring in marketing and solve the related issues on training profession (position)men,the paper try to put forward some countermeasures and suggestions ,such as determining the reasonable goal of professional training programs, strengthening occupation guidance, strengthening general education, promotion of modern apprenticeship etc.
