Higher Vocational College Students Employment Competitiveness

The competitiveness of employment is the fundamental task of college education of training talents. After 20 years'development, vocational colleges have become an important part of Chinese higher education. The first thing to be defined is their content and their comparative advantages in order to train vocational college students' competitiveness of employment. Vocational college students' competitiveness of employment is the ability shown from participating the competitions in social labor market. Through using the "The Evaluation Criterion for Excellence Achievement" and the "SWOT" analysis, we can see the comparative advantages, compared with general college students, are the relative clarity of employment consciousness, the reasonableness of professional development orientation, the pratical and sufficient skills, "double certificate system" highlighs one major with multi skills, hard-working and strong adaptability, etc. Through a long-term reform, research and practice, Chinese vocational education has made great achievements. In the part of training vocational college students'competitiveness of employment, a cultivation consensus has been reached, a cultivation model has been explored, some experiences have been gained and also some problems have existed. Main problems include:national policies and employment conditions need to be improved; the operators' educational innovation intensity need to be increased; the subjects' comprehensive qualities need to be improved. The main line of training vocational college students'competitiveness of employment is to highlight their "career consciousness" and "vocational ability"; the key point is to construct the employability system focusing on the production in the front line and the goal is to train overall quality of vocational. Specific measures include:improving the policy system and further optimizing the environment; innovating educational ideas and constantly developing new models; emphasizing competency-based and building efficient training assessment system.
