The Legal Protection Of Gender Equality In American School Education

Educational equality has played an important role in achieving social equality around the world. Moreover the gender equality in education is an essential and important part of educational equality and an important indicator of both democratization and modernization. The United States is the developed capitalist country. With the civil rights movement and the feminist movement beginning, the government of federal and state began to care about gender discrimination in school education.Comparing with china and America, although there are many differences in cultural traditions, social systems, laws, policies and other aspects of the education system, in some aspects of culture and education there are some experience to share with each other. With the development of American education, it proved that the legislative, judicial and executive of federal and state supported the development of legal protection of gender equality in school education. Therefore, it is significant theoretically and practically to study the legal protection of gender equality in American school education.This dissertation adopts such research methods of literature search, case analysis and comparative study and so on. The dissertation consists of four parts. First, to define the concept of legal protection of gender equality in school education, including the meaning of gender equality and gender discrimination in education and the legal basis of protection of gender equality in American school education; Second, to analysis the origin and development of the legal protection of gender equality in American school education; Third, to discuss the current situation, that is, the legislation and judicial precedents of the law is how to protect the gender equality in school education; Fourth, to summary the basic experience of the legal protection of gender equality in American school education, which is the reference to build our country's legal protection of gender equality.
