Researches On Gender Equality Education In Taiwan And Its Enlightenment

Today education takes the priority in the national development strategies, while achieving gender equality is one of the duties of education. Take gender as a sole social classification of human beings, the role that society gives men and women the different expectation and constraint,often gives the male and female different temperament and characteristics. However, as the changes of gender ratio in college and society, the problem of gender equality education has become more serious. There are some phenomenon like sexual conflicts,discriminations in the process of students’ study and employment,the females’ personal security faced threatening always occurred in recent years, The wrong concept is direct or indirect resistance for students’ development,which influences the achievement of gender equality.The author discovers that in the process of creating the “gender-equality” social environment in Taiwan area has achieved quite significant achievement. Through adopting literature analysis and interviews, this paper first analyses the gender equality and related concepts and theory, then introduces the process of development of gender equality in education in Taiwan in education. Finally, we can draw conclusions from learning from Taiwan “gender equality” experiences. We should fully consider how to take gender equality into the development of educational system.The research result shows that gender equality education in Taiwan is a practical activity integrating campus, pubic field and legislation, In this activity, schooling is the effective carrier, enactment of legal policy is the important guarantee for its implementation and the joint effort of government public sectors and female societies promotes its development. Although there are many imperfections in the process of carrying out gender equality education in Taiwan, the experience built up in the course of promoting gender equality education provides lots of references to the Mainland.
