| Since reform and opening-up, population structure changes in Liaoning province profoundly affect the development of economy and society. This paper expounds the process of change of population structure of Liaoning province from three aspects since the reform and opening up through data collection and analysis. Also, it summarized characteristics and existing problems during the process of structure changes. Besides, on the basis of analyzing the influential factors and causes, the paper tried to conduct prediction of its future development trend scientifically. And then put forward counter measures to optimize the development of population structure.In the review of research results, this paper firstly based on the related concept of population structure made of academic define the classification of population structure was presented. Then, using regional population structure theory research framework, the key factor of population structure, this paper summarizes and analyses the structure of population change in Liaoning province and lay a theoretical basis. Through the qualitative and quantitative research methods, the natural population structure of Liaoning province, social and economic structure and analysis of regional structure, summarized the population structure evolution characteristics and problems since 1978 of Liaoning province, finally population structure from 2011 to 2020 is scientifically forecasted.The results of the study show that, Liaoning population structure demonstrates six main characteristics. Overall structure is reasonable, however the aging process is too fast, human capital should be further enhanced. Through the analysis on factors of economic, policy and culture we predict the Population Structure from 2011 to 2020 with three Econometric models. Relevant optimization Suggestions of population structure are put forwards in order to promote Liaoning population structure as well as the steady and rapid development of economic and society.
