Population and economic development are mutually reinforcing, population development to some extent determines the economic development. Economic development is largely subject to the population, population quality, population structure, population distribution. Highlighting the role population leading the economic development, it is to define the role of various demographic factors in promoting economic development. Formulating population and development policies with the level of economic development, so that the population is coordinated with economic development.In this paper, in order to more fully study population development, from the theoretical point of view, the population are classified as the number of population, population quality, population structure and population distribution. Research on status of the population through development of Henan province, the population development in Henan main problems lie in: the population in the statistics history was positively correlated with economic development, if the environmental costs are thought, the number of people caused serious environmental stress; The quality of the population in Henan, main problems are low levels of education are less highly educated professionals; Aging deeper level affects on the type of population production, the sex ratio imbalance is more prominent;Urban and rural development is not balanced, unreasonable, uneven density of population density. These have affected the economic development in Henan Province. In the end, for the abovementioned issues, the reasonable control of population size, a series of urban and rural economic development measures should be taken.
