This dissertation mainly combs and analyses the professional growth of counselors from the angle of narrative research and unfolds the current situation of the professional growth about university counselors through narrative description on the life, study, work of counselors. From the paper, we can learn the growing lives of counselors in the big professional background, including the coping behaviors that the counselors facing the specialized situation, the questions and difficulties in the specialized growth, the key events in the growth, etc.The thesis is constituted with introduction, three chapters and conclusion, showing the professionally growing narratives of teacher A and announcing the problems of the processIn the first fraction, the writer interviewed teacher A thoroughly on the three points:institutional system, idea and moral, knowledge and skill about counselor's professional growth. Firstly, we can learn about four narratives, on board, training, assessment and internal transfer. From those narratives and previous preparations, we can discover the key problems on the institutional system:the system on board upgrade continuously, the contents of training lack quality, assessment is too subjective and nonsense, the promoting system is not completion. So we should improve and enhance the four parts. Secondly, in the part of idea and moral, we can learn that the role definition of counselors, the students'standing in work, the collision between work and life, burnout, etc. From the account of teacher A, we can summarize the issues of the part:the unclear responsibility bring about role conflict, the collision with students, miscellaneous work and dark prospects trigger burnout, etc. In view of these questions, the writer thinks that we should definite role explicitly, implement the responsibility, emphasize students'status, cope with burnout positively and improve the professional growth. Lastly, in the part of knowledge and skill, the paper investigates the professional development, psychological consultation, induction of political thought, service of student affairs, scientific research, etc. This part is divided into two parts: elemental knowledge and skill, and professional knowledge and skill. We can learn that the professional system of cultivating subjects and lifelong training are not complete. It makes the counselor lack systematic knowledge and skill. Moreover, the counselor can not cater to the requirement of undergraduates and implement the professional growth. Therefore, the government, school and counselors themselves should collaborate at full blast to build the subject of counselor and cultivate professional counselors.In the last part, the paper introspects and summaries the contents of the thesis and explicit the meaning and scarcity of the research. Therefore we should treat the difficulties in the professional growth of counselors dialectically and believe that we must achieve the goal of specialization.
