Since the period from the nation-building in 1949 to the eve of opening and reform, in order to satisfy the specific needs in different historical period of political and economic construction, and meet demand of all kinds of talents in national construction in different historical periods, compulsory in our country has carried on many times reform and test. Having accumulated a lot of Success or failure historical experiences and lessons this historical period. It has significance to future compulsory education school system reform in studying compulsory education school system reform in this historical period in our country.The thesis is divided into five parts:The introduction explains the significance of this paper, defines the core concepts, states the present situation of the problem and research method.The first part of this article's body mainly analyzes compulsory education school system reform at the beginning of nation-founding (1949-1957). During this time, the value orientation of compulsory education school system reform is "education sever for politic", mainly embodied in "education sever for workers and peasants ", which has expressed the nature of nation and has its own necessity. However, compulsory education school system reform in this period has some problems, such as eager to hope for success, break away form practical and lack of scientificity and feasiblity and so on. At the same time, developing compulsory education blindly, which ignores the bearing capacity of economic, and finally led to education quality decline.The second part discusses the history of compulsory education school system reform in all-round construction of socialist period (1958-1965). with "education and labor combination" as the guiding ideology, The achievement of compulsory education system reform in this period focus on active exploration in training objectives, entrance age and length of schooling, etc. Meanwhile, it is good for popularizing compulsory education about the exploration on two kinds of education system. under the background of "great leap forward", The weakness mainly embodied in such aspects as too fast pace of reform of the school system, too large scope of educational system experiment, too short length of schooling, which against the phenomenon of the students'development regularity and education law.The third part mainly reviews the history of school system reform during "Cultural Revolution". Under the guidance of leftist thinking, in order to popularize compulsory education in a short time during the "cultural revolution", it has greatly shortened the length of schooling and decreased education quality.The last part makes a historical assessment and enlightenment of compulsory education's school system reform of our country during the period from nation-building to opening and reform. We get several inspirations as following:firstly, the school system reform of compulsory education should consider national political system and economic conditions when formulated training objectives and tasks. Secondly, the school system reform of compulsory education call for rational spirit, we should pay more attention to test of school system. Meanwhile, the school system reform should keep certain stability and consider the special circumstances. Thirdly, the school system reform of compulsory education should consider students'law of somatopsychic development and pay close attention to fairness characteristics of compulsory education. Finally, the school system reform of compulsory education should attach importance to guarantee system construction, at the same time, the function of teachers should be emphasized and fully played in the school system reform.
