Writing is always the hard stuff and chronic problem in Chinese language teaching. Facing the phenomenon that it's hard for students to write composition, perplexed for teachers to teach composition and confused for researchers to do writing research, People can't help reflecting on the composition teaching exactly what the problem is? How to change the currently inefficient composition teaching situation?Human have the innate nature of imitation and children initially acquire knowledge by imitation. Imitating writing is the traditional composition teaching methods. Although language teachers hold different views on imitating writing, in actual teaching, each teacher of various degrees of using imitating writing composition teaching methods. Yet, even if it's the latter, the language teachers are confused of the basis of the imitating writing theory, they only use it in accordance with the experience of teaching. Achievements in psychology research provide us with the new view of reflecting imitating writing teaching. This study will be devoted to clearing the basis of the imitating writing theory, especially, the psychological basis. On this basis, we will construct imitating teaching mode for teachers in order to prompt them more consciously using the method for teaching. Doing this have realistic necessity and profound value.This paper consists of four chapters. Chapter 1 introduces the intuition and significance of this research, and how it is conducted. Chapter 2 briefs Chinese ancient scholars, contemporary the famous writers and Chinese educators imitating writing experience or imitating writing composition teaching experience. Sort out the domestic experimental research. Chapter 3 provide imitating writing with psychological basis from observational learning theory,theory of learning from worked examples and zones of proximal development theory. Chapter 4 according to the misunderstandings of the imitating Writing and the problem existing in teachers' imitating writing practice, the author provides detailed advice and guidance, for example, determination of teaching objectives, the necessarily preparation for imitating writing, stimulate students self-explanation, do some exercises and feedback on imitating writing.
