In 1991, Averill and Thomas-Knowles formally proposed the concept of emotional creativity, defined as:"experience and expression of novel, appropriate and realistic emotional skills."In this definition reflects the three criteria of emotional creativity, namely, the expression of emotional experience and emotional novelty, effectiveness and authenticity. At present, respectively,the research about emotional and creative is more, but the emotional aspects of creativity on the research in China is still very small. This paper aims at sorting out the development process of emotional creativity , and in the process describing the concept and characteristics of emotional creativity, and then amending the emotional creativity Averill Questionnaire (Emotional Creativity Iventory , ECI) for the follow-up research measurement tools, and secondly, application of emotional creativity, creative mood questionnaire analysis, the Big Five personality inventory of creative individuals with emotional personality.This study selected a total of 1150 students from the four college of Jinan and Shanghai as subjects. The main use of SPSS 16.0 and AMOS7.0 software package for analysising survey data and statistical.Results: 1. Ultimately, the amendment to complete the mood questionnaire contains 26 questions creativity, of which 7 are prepared to subject dimension, novelty dimension contains 13 questions, the real effective dimension has 6 topics. Emotional creativity revised questionnaire has good reliability and validity, Preparedness dimension,Nvoelty dimension and Authenticity/Effectiveness dimension's Cronbachαcoefficients were 0.739, 0.799, 0.710, theαcoefficient of the questionnaire scores0.828; the dimensions of the split-half reliability coefficients range between 0.721~0.761. The construct validity of the questionnaire is well, the indicators were:χ~2/df = 2.93, RMSEA = 0.061, AGFI = 0.960, CFI = 0.984. 2. To study emotional characteristics of college students creativity, the creativity of the general mood found no significant gender differences; emotion and creativity, there are some differences in grade, freshmen, and all the emotional creativity subscale scores generally have higher scores in the sophomore and junior students. Emotional creativity subscale scores and scores on the preparatory year students were significantly higher than sophomores, juniors, and the novelty subscale scores were significantly higher than sophomores; science students and preparation of the total score did not reach significant level, so that there is no major difference emotional creativity; emotion and creativity in the home where the difference is not significant; in the region with no significant difference no significant difference in the preparation of the subscale scores higher than the Shanghai College of Jinan University Students, while in the other subscales and total scores were higher than Shanghai College of Jinan university students, but the difference did not reach significant levels.3. The application of simple version of Big Five Personality Questionnaire and the revised emotional creativity for 450 college students from Shanghai and Jinan. Three dimensions scores of emotion and five dimensions scores of Big Five personality questionnaire were different levels of the correlation coefficient range of 0.140 ~ 0.506. In addition, the canonical correlation analysis, creativity, emotional impact on the role of personality traits than personality traits influence emotional creativity; further explore the personality traits of college students with high group and low group differences in emotional creativity, discovery, with Individuals with different personality traits on the performance of emotional creativity is not the same.
