Gratitude is a positive emotion that occurs after people receive help, depending on how they interpret the situation. The systematic study of gratitude within psychology only began around the year 2000.However, in China, Our study has just begun and related literature is extremely limited. Now, the economy of China is undergoing a transformation and multi-cultural collision of special period, the sense of gratitude of university students has been affected by this situation. The present research bases on the previous studies, 834 university students from Shanghai, Ningxia, Shandong were tested by questionnaire. The research is to find out whether the GQ scale can be used in China, the trend of the gratitude of university students in Shanghai, Ningxia and Shandong, and to discuss the relationship among emotional intelligence, personality, perceived social support and gratitude, to provide research result to enhance the gratitude level of university students, as well as to provide some enlightenment and education proposals for gratitude education.The result showed that:1.The University students gratitude scale without good construct validity, the 6th item of GQ can not fit the model, a five item model was a better fit than the original six item model.2.The university students have high level of gratitude.3.Distinct difference existed between boys and girls on gratitude, girls got higher score than boys.4.Distinct difference existed between different grades on gratitude, student in Grade 2 got higher score than Grade 3.5.Distinct difference existed among three districts. Shandong students got the highest score.6.The non-only-child got higher score on gratitude than only-child.7.The university students gratitude has significant difference on subjects. Arts students got higher score than science students.7.Family finances has no effect on university student gratitude.8. Gratitude, as expected, positively correlated with emotional intelligence and its dimensions, positively correlated with openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and extraversion, and negatively correlated with neuroticism, positively correlated with perceived social support. However, from the regression analysis, the study found that emotional intelligence, agreeableness and perceived social support can be significant predictor of gratitude.
