Objective: In order to investigate the status of quality of life (QOL) and its influential factors among college students of medical university in Anhui province, and to provide scientific evidence for the intervention. Methods: By a cluster sampling method, 2 002 college students were surveyed with questionnaires from four medical universities in Anhui province. Them were composed of WHOQOL-BREF, QOL related factors questionnaire, ASLEC, SCSQ, PSSS, EPQ-RSC and SAQ. The t-test, F-test, linear correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, Logistic regression analysis, nonparametric test and other analysis methods were adopted by SPSS13.0 statistical package. Results: The average age of 2 002 students was (19.96±1.38) years, 824 were males (41.16%) and 1 178 were females (58.84%). The scores of every domain among medical students: Physiology domain (64.57±12.56), Psychology domain (61.60±13.17), Social relationship domain (67.05±14.93), Environment domain (54.62±12.96), General QOL and health status (59.18±17.96).The score of Physiology domain were lower than reference values (P<0.01), but this situation was opposite in Social relationship domain and Environment domain (P<0.01). The scores of Psychology domain and General QOL and health status were not significantly different from reference value (P>0.05). The factors of university, grade, major, demographic characteristics, health status, family condition, behavior and others were significantly influential on the QOL of medical students from different domains by t-test and F-test. Linear correlation analysis showed that scores of negative life events, passive coping style, psychoticism, neuroticism were negatively correlated with score of every domain of QOL among medical students, then that scores of positive coping style, self-acceptance, perceived social support, extraversion were positively correlated with them. Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis indicated that self-acceptance, satisfaction with major, appetite, illness, neuroticism, physical exercise, perceived social support, negative life events, hours of sleep every day, living expenses every month, bedtime and extraversion were significantly influential on the QOL of students in medical university. Multiple linear stepwise regression analysis showed that students who had higher self-acceptance extent, were satisfacted with their major, had good appetite, often did physical exercise, had more perceived social support, had sufficient sleep every day, had more living expenses every month, were exoscopic in character had better QOL than those not, and then the QOL of students who were ill, had instability emotion, were impacted by negative life events obviously, had later bedtime were worse than those who did not. Conclusion: The factors of university, grade, major, demographic characteristics, health status, family condition, behavior, life events, coping style, social support, personality characteristics and self-acceptance were significantly influential to QOL of students in medical university. Negative life events, passive coping style, psychoticism, neuroticism were negatively related with QOL of medical students, then positive coping style, self-acceptance, perceived social support, extraversion were positively related with it. Self-acceptance, satisfaction with major, appetite, illness, neuroticism, physical exercise, perceived social support, negative life events, hours of sleep every day, living expenses every month, bedtime and extraversion were the main influential factors of the QOL of students in medical university.
