Objective: Using Undergraduates' Learning Adaptability (ULAQ) and Symptom Clecklist90 (SCL-90) to explore Medical College students learning adaptability and its factors in Guangdong province. Through comparing and analyzing, on the one hand, check the applicability of the content and structure of Undergraduates' Learning Adaptability for the Medical College students; on the other hand, know about the Medical College students learning adaptability and its influential factors in Guangdong province at the present time, and then farther discuss the relationship among the learning adaptability, score and mental health status of Medical College students in Guangdong province.Methods: Undergraduates' learning adaptability questionnaire (ULAQ) had been conducted begins in Oct 2005 and finished in Oct 2006. Considering four dimensionality of:①Gender,②Grade,③Students origin,④College. First, we adopted whole random with class sample, chose 1070 undergraduates from six Medical College in Guangdong Province including male 545, female 525. Using ULAQ to explore the learning adaptability of Medical College students and its influential factors in Guangdong province. Including specialty interest, independence administration, pressure adjustment, method application, information utilizing, circumstance selecting, knowledge transform, appeal tendency eight part tests. Second, randomly chose 900 from those i070 undergraduates, using SCL-90 to evaluate their mental health status. Whole tested by class unit.Used uniform Likert5 count method, including five grades:"1" is the worst, "2" is bad,"3" is normal, "4" is better,"5" is the best. Every medical college student whose score higher means whose adaptability is preferable. If≥3 means whose adaptability is normal and better, whereas is bad; and in SCL—90, the score of every element is lower means whose mental health status is better. If≥3 means who has the mental health problem above normal.Results:1. Undergraduates' learning adaptability questionnaire (ULAQ) is applicable for the Medical college students.2. According to the results from tests, most Medical college students in Guangdong province is still experience inadaptability in various aspects. Different qualities of adaptability are under different developing states. Learning behavior is normal but learning activity is bad.3. Grade level have difference influence on medical college students in specialty interest, pressure adjustment, method application, information utilizing, knowledge transform and appeal tendency 6 aspects.4. Gender have difference influence on medical college students in independence administration, information utilizing, circumstance selecting, knowledge transform, appeal tendency 5 aspects.5. Origin have difference influence on medical college students in specialty interest, pressure adjustment, method application, appeal tendency 4 aspects.6. Family upbringings and physical health level have difference influence on medical college students in Learning behavior and learning activity including 8 aspects. Democratic upbringings have better learning adaptability than others. Higher physical health levels also have better learning adaptability than others.7. Most of the average marks of SCL—90 of medical college students are remarkably higher than the model of our country except interpersonal relationships and resisting, but obviously lower than the undergraduates model of our country.8. There are obviously relationship between average marks of the learning adaptability of medical college students and whose integrative learning score (P<0.01). 9. There are various correlativity between the average marks of the learning adaptability of medical college students and whose mental health status. From them the correlativity of pressure adjustment, appeal tendency and whose mental health status (P<0.01).Conclusion: The whole learning adaptability status of medical college students still under the normal level. Grade, gender, students' origin, family upbringings and physical health have various different influences on the learning adaptability of medical college students. There are obviously relations between average marksthe learning adaptability of medical college students and whose integrative learning score, There are various correlativity between the average marks of the learning adaptability of medical college students and whose mental health status.
