ObjectiveThe aim of the study was to investigate the characteristics, risk factors for aggression behavior among juvenile delinquents, to build the pathway model diagram among the factors and demonstrate the interactions among the childhood abuse, the adolescent attachment, the coping style, and the variable of mood in anxiety and depression on aggression behavior. Then assessed the decrease of the juvenile delinquents'aggression behavior in three months.Methods1. A case-control study was made, 945 juvenile delinquents were extracted as the groups with Violent Offences (110 cases) and common criminal (110 cases), and by the cluster random sampling method, we take samples from boys in a certain vocational high schools of Chongqing as control group (110 cases). The three groups were matched by gender, age, race, and family income. They were selected as our study subjects to conduct a questionnaire survey. The survey included subiects'basic information, Aggression Questionnaire, Screen Questionnaire of Child Abuse, Child Abuse Scale, Child Neglected Scale, Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment, Trait Coping Style Questionnaire, Self-Rating Depression Scale, Self-Rating Anxiety Scale. To assess the characteristics, risk factors of juvenile delinquents'aggression behavior.2. A cluster random sampling method was used. 945 juvenile delinquents were selected as our study subjects to conduct above-mention questionnaire survey, and 908 questionnaires were analyzed. Then to discuss the possible risk factors of aggression behavior and establish the pathway model diagram among the factors. After that, 273 juvenile delinquents were followed up for 3 months, and 240 questionnaires were analyzed. Investigated with the questionnaire survey, which include Aggression Questionnaire, Self-Rating Depression Scale, Self-Rating Anxiety Scale.SPSS16.0 statistical software was used for analysis by t-test, ANOVA, x2 test, Pearson correlation analysis, multiple stepwise regression analysis. Amos 17.0 statistical software was used for analysis by the pathway model diagram among the factors.Results1. Violence group>common criminal group>control group on the score of Physical Aggression, Hostility and the total scores of Aggression Questionnaire, the differences between the groups was statistically significant (p<0.01). Comparing to control group, the groups of violence and common criminal group had a higher proportion in incompleted family structure, disaccord of Parental rearing styles, parents working outside hometown, childhood abuse (p<0.01). The dimension of abuse in three groups was significantly different in Physical Abuse, Verbal Abuse, the total scores of abuse, Safety Neglect, Affection Neglect, Communication Neglect (p<0.01). The dimension of attachment in three groups significantly different in father trusting, the total scores of father attachment, mother trusting, mother alienation, the total scores of mother attachment, peer trusting, peer communication, the total scores of peer attachment (p<0.05). The three groups were significantly different in Positive Coping, Negative Coping, SDS and SAS (p<0.05). That the above variables were the effect factors on juvenile delinquents'aggression behavior.2. Different crime types were significantly different in Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Indirect Aggression and Anger (p<0.01). The juvenile differed from parents working outside hometown, parental rearing styles, family structure, and family income were significantly different in the five factors of Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Indirect Aggression, Anger, Hostility and the total scores of aggression behavior (p<0.01). The subjects who had abused in childhood, the severity of Physical Abuse, Verbal Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Safety Neglect, Affection Neglect and Communication Neglect were highly positive correlated with the score of five factors and the total scores of aggression behavior in juvenile delinquents (p<0.05). Tursting and communicating dimension of parents attachment were separately negative correlated with the scores of the four factors as Physical Aggression, Indirect Aggression, Anger, Hostility and the total scores of aggression behavior (p<0.05). Alienated dimension of parents and peer attachment were separately positive correlated with the scores of five factors and the total scores of aggression behavior (p<0.01). However, the peer trusting of juvenile delinquents was positive correlated with the factors as Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression (p<0.05), and negative correlated with Hostility (p<0.01). Peer communication was positive correlated with Physical Aggression,Verbal Aggression and the total scores of aggression behavior (p<0.05). Positive coping was negative correlated with the score of factors and total of aggression behavior (p<0.05). Negative coping was positive correlated with the score of factors and total of aggression behavior (p<0.01). Depression was not correlated with Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression (p>0.05), but was positive correlated with the score of the rest factors and the total (p<0.05). Anxiety was positive correlated with the score of factors and total of aggression behavior (p<0.01). By multiple stepwise regression analysis bring 14 factors into regression equation. They are affection neglect, SAS, mother alienation, different ways for parental rearing styles, father trusting, peer alienation, parents working outside hometown, negative coping, positive coping, peer communication, SDS, physical abuse, mother trusting, family income. The abovementioned factors were important predictors for juvenile delinquents'aggression behavior (p<0.05). 33.6% of aggression behavior of juvenile delinquents could be explained by the variables of Social Psychology.3. After 3 months follow-up study, the score of Physical Aggression of juvenile delinquents was significant decreased (p<0.01), the Indirect Aggression, Anger, Hostility and the total score of aggression behavior had a trend of decreasing, but was not statistically signigicant. The childhood abuse was not correlated with the drop of scores in Physical Aggression (p>0.05). After 3 months follow-up study, the score of SDS was mild increased and SAS was mild decreased in juvenile delinquents, but were not statistically significant.Conclusions1. The aggression behavior of juvenile delinquents was significantly higher than normal control, and different types of aggression behavior could partly predict different criminal types.2. The aggression behavior of juvenile delinquents was affected by factors of family, childhood abuse, attachment to Parents and peers, individual coping style, anxiety and depression emotion. Therefore, the education, reform and relapse prevention of Juvenile Delinquents could be carried out from multiple aspects.3. Childhood abuse was important independent risk factor for aggression behavior of juvenile delinquents, which was not only direct effect on aggression behavior, but influent on aggression behavior indirectly through attachment, coping types, anxiety and depression emotion.4. Aggression behavior was a stable behavior, and through 3 months follow-up study, we have not found the experience of abuse in childhood was a predictor of improving for Aggression behavior.
