The article tracks the past twenty years'development of teach for America. As an un-profit origination, "Teach for America" has operated successful for 20 years. Its mission is to build the movement to eliminate educational inequity by enlisting our nation's most promising future leaders in the effort. They recruit outstanding recent college graduates from all backgrounds and career interests to commit to teach for two years in urban and rural public schools and provide the training and ongoing support necessary to ensure their success as teachers in low-income communities. Beyond these two years, Teach For America alumni bring strong leadership to all levels of the school system and every professional sector, addressing the extra challenges facing children growing up in low-income communities, building the capacity of schools and districts, and changing the prevailing ideology through their examples and advocacy.Today, in the world, in order to solve the problem of inequity in education, the world shows a tendency to promote balanced development of education. This is particularly prominent in the United States. "Teach for America", integrates various social resources, strengthen its management and influence, gained rapid development."Teach for America" aims to deliver more high-quality teachers for low-income district. Therefore, most of these teachers graduated from prestigious universities in the United States, on behalf of young elite in the United States. The places they teach are mostly less developed regions, where the children can not receive the same high-quality education resources from the other places. "Teach for America" priority are: Grow to scale while increasing the diversity of the corps; Maximize the impact of corps members on student achievement; Foster the leadership of our alumni as a force for change; Build an enduring American institution.Funded by government, foundations, individuals, corporations, "Teach for America" has built a professional and efficient team, which ensure the recruitment, training, follow guidance, funding and other work carried out smoothly. "Teach for America" national headquarter work under the CEO, and form two teams:a senior operations team and a project team. The senior operations team is in charge of the operation, personnel, public relations, finance and infrastructure, marketing and other departments. The project team charge recruitment, admission, alumni management, teacher training, teacher support and development departments. Their main task is to send teachers to provide support and guidance, and is responsible for liaison with the local public relations. Overall, the "Teach for America" consists of three processes:1 a recruitment and selection; 2 training and technical support; 3 funding and certification."Teach for America", impact is not only to sent twenty thousand teachers to the less developed areas of the United States, but also train a large number social leaders."Teach for America" achieved so much success mainly because:1, students in the United States enthusiastic volunteer service; 2, long-term volunteer service can help participants get better job and education opportunities; 3, the reputation of the project bring honor to the participants and confidence; 4, teachers will receive appropriate life and school support; 5, TFA establish a partnership with many institutions to ensure the development of teachers.Although "Teach for America" has made great achievements, but the criticism is also very sharp. These criticisms are generally divided into the following aspects:First of all, most of the "Teach for America" teachers do not accept the traditional teacher training; Secondly, most of the "Teach for America" teachers do not plan long-term or life from teaching. After two years of the commitment, many of them will choose to leave; Thirdly, "Teach for America" teachers'number is a small one.Study the project deeply helps us understand the experience of TFA, which provide good experience for the balanced development of our county.
