Study On University-Industry Cooperation Mode And Characteristics Based On Patent Data Of "985 Project" Universities Of The Yangtze-Delta

As an important participant in global economic integration and promoting the rapid development of Knowledge-based Economy, our country have logged up a remarkable achievements in technological innovation in recent years, University-Industry cooperation modes which regard universities as original innovation power sources become mature, and exhibit many development trends and characteristics. In the process, what is the current situation of University-Industry cooperation modes which center on universities? What are the prominent features? Whether University-Industry cooperation mechanism plays the prominent role in driving the regional economic development? Is there any long-term stability effective University-Industry cooperation mode for reference? Above are questions which generate from the study of University-Industry cooperation, which are also the important aspects of current University-Industry cooperation problem.Therefore, this study takes patents as research sample, which is one of important achievements of University-Industry cooperation, selects universities in economic developed area—the Yangtze River Delta as investigated object, then systematically explores the function of universities(especially research universities) in the process of University-Industry cooperation, hoping for providing some reference on University-Industry cooperation theory and practice.On the basis of combing the state of "industry-university-institute" cooperation in our country and the summarizing of innovation theory and "industry-university-institute" theory, this paper holds that innovation is the essential point of "industry-university-institute" cooperation, regional development is the core performance of "industry-university-institute" cooperation, research university should play more important role in the national development strategy. For Yangtze river delta region is one of the most dynamic regions in our country, the mode and the structure of University-Industry cooperation in this region play a leading role, so this study selects five Universities of the Yangtze River Delta listed in "985 Project" as object, detailed depict and analyse University-Industry cooperation mode and characteristics by using the patent data and to patent analysis for clues, selecting typical cases for further study, refines three kinds of University-Industry cooperation mode that have relatively steady co-operative mechanism. On that basis, this paper puts forward research conclusions and policy suggestions, which has a certain significance on University-Industry cooperation theory and practice.This study was supported by Chinese National Natural Science Foundation(No. 70803045), so here expresses the appreciation.
