Family Studies do not seem to be the center of research points at the personal, social, state level and other research fields. It was, to a large extent, due to that the society came out in the public domain which was independent from families. Besides, most of the researchers put their research interests on the community, market, state, civil society and other research objects, which make family studies seem to at the edge.With the advancement of urbanization, industrialization, urban society has faced intense urbanization process and great changes in terms of large amount of urban renewal projects and renovation plans. The market has expanded greatly in people's economic and social activities with growing influence, and plays an increasingly important role in family life. Thus, profound changes have taken place in family economic relations, family values and family intimate relations in varying degrees.Taking Shanghai as an example, this paper places family under the social structure and the state perspective, exploring the relationship between urban demolition and relocation in Shanghai and family housing property disputes, hoping to find the links and interaction among compensation policies during urban demolition and relocation process, the occurrence, expanding and solution of family housing property disputes, as well as the underlying operating logic behind them.Meanwhile, concerning with the encountering with intimate relation and economic rationality, its representation and operation mechanism in the family property disputes will be discussed. The dilemma between family intimacy and economic rationality confronted by the family members and the corresponding claims of them are explored, either. Moreover, the paper also finds that the family members follow the principle of fairness when addressing family property conflicts problems. Finally, the connecting relationship between family intimacy and economic rationality in family property disputes has been pointed out again. The principle of fairness and shared value of "family harmony" are also described briefly in the ending part.
