New Exploration On School-Family Partnership

The relationship between school and family is an important topic in education research and practice. In order to come to model status of school-family cooperation, the thesis reveals the hidden contradiction in practice hardship by establishing a new view on school & family partnership.Chapter 1 gives a new understanding on school and family cooperation in education. There are there requirements of school-family cooperation:schools become independent from the power, families'education function transfer to public school, people are more conscious of human's development in an all-around way. The unique value of school and family are to cultivate people's indenture belief and covenant spirit separately. The difference between family education and "family-like education", school education and "school-like education" are discussed. The author believes that the inter-purpose of school-family partnership is for improving themselves by accepting each other.Chapter 2 make a subject of study on school-family cooperation and point out that most of researches are phenomena descriptions which do not help to improve practice. Two base contradictions in school-family cooperation practice are revealed: the prejudice about family education's "unprofessional" comparing with school education; considering the cooperation as some activity.Chapter 3 tries to find out the contradictions'solving. This thesis believes that school education and family education are two different professional field which cannot conduct each other. The cooperation merges into normal interaction between school and family.The last chapter gives advice on school & family partnership development, which is expected to be confluent, interactive and culture-creative.
