Since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, with the continuous shrinking of China’s population and the development of urbanization, the number of single-parent families has gradually increased, and it has gradually attracted the attention of academic circles. The target of this article is that the W family belongs to the main family composed of a single-parent family living with grandparents. This paper mainly focuses on the phenomenon of intergenerational conflict in W family, and uses interview method and observation method to evaluate family problems, and finds that the intergenerational conflict problem of W family is the external manifestation of unreasonable family structure, rigid or blurred boundaries between subsystems in the family, unclear division of roles and responsibilities of family members, and other family pathological structures and poor communication methods.Based on the evaluation, the author and the W family negotiated the use of the structural family therapy model to intervene in the intergenerational conflict of their families from the perspective of the family as a whole. In terms of interventional methods, the author uses the four therapeutic steps of structural family therapy proposed by Minyuqing to intervene in the intergenerational conflict problem of W family. The intervention lasted three months and held eleven meetings.According to the theoretical model and service objectives, this service is divided into four stages. The first stage is role correction in the family structure,de-labeling the "identified patient" problem in the family.Redefine family issues by guiding W family members to explore intergenerational conflict in family relationships; The second stage is relationship facilitation in the family structure, and improving family cognition and communication skills.Specifically,it is to guide family members to explore which of their words and actions cause the persistence of problems, change family members’ cognition, and stimulate motivation for change.Help family members learn communication skills and methods and improve family communication skills; The third stage is a review of the past in the family structure, understanding the root causes of behavior.Short, focused exploration of the past of adult family members in the family to help family members understand the root causes of behavioral problems; The fourth stage is the development of members in the family structure, boundaries and inclusive growth strategies.Specifically,it is to reconstruct family boundaries with family members, and to demarcate the boundaries of the mother-child subsystem,father-daughter subsystem and grandchild subsystem in the family.Change the pathological structure of the family, clarify the division of roles and responsibilities among family members, and resolve the phenomenon of joint confrontation.Strengthen the overall concept of the family, promote the growth of family members, and create a harmonious and inclusive family atmosphere.Through the intervention of social workers, the intergenerational conflict problem of W family has achieved relatively good intervention results, the intergenerational conflict problem has been effectively solved, and the unreasonable family structure has changed.Specifically, the boundaries between the grandchild system and the parent-child subsystem have been clearly demarcated, the problems of joint confrontation and unclear division of roles and responsibilities in the family have changed, and family members have learned the correct communication method and can communicate effectively. The unreasonable family structure of the W family has been transformed into a healthy family structure, and a harmonious family atmosphere of mutual understanding, acceptance and mutual tolerance has been formed in the family.
