The Study About Aging Population Influence On Economic Growth Of Gansu Province

The percent of aging population between whole population is increasing gradually,the process is called Aging population, which is because the continuing decline of fertility rate and mortality, the rising longevity human expected life. The 21st century is the century of aging population, the change of population structure is widely affects all aspects of social life, aging population gradually become the world attention major population problem. Statistics show that in 2005 Gansu province became ageing population society (the proportion of aged above 65 years is 7.22%,the old young proportion is 30.86%), and aging degree in deepened ceaselessly.Aging problem is not only a social problem, but also a serious economic problem, if the problem be handled improperly, it will bring great adverse effects to the development of social economic. By studying the aging problem of Gansu province, analyzing the influences on economic growth, may make us have deepper understanding of the problem. Besides, we can prepare well before the peek of aging population, so that the negative influence on economic growth may be minimized, and we may find the new economic growth point which brought by the aging population.The Paper is divided into five parts.The first part, introduction. Introduced the background and significance of the topic-selection, and the review of the related literature, as well as the thoughts and methods briefly. Then introduced the concepts and indexes of the aging population.The second part, the status and characteristics of Gansu province's aging population. This part is analyzed in three ways:the changing trend of elderly population during the calendar years, the aging population pyramid and the characteristics of aging population.The third part, analyze the influences of Gansu province's aging population on economic growth empirically. Through the Unit Root Test, the Cointegration Test, the Granger Causality Test and the Pulse Influence Function to carry out specific analysis.The fourth part, analyze the influences of Gansu aging population on the each element supply of economic growth empirically. Analyze the aging population's influence on economic growth factors by the Leff model and the CPPS software.The fifth part, the countermeasures to Gansu province's aging population. Various measures are put forward to cope with the aging population of Gansu province.
