Cooperative learning, a current effective classroom teaching method, is widely used in schools at all levels, both in home and abroad. Group cooperation learning method can not only improve students in English knowledge, but also help them to acquire the communicative competence in their communication activities.This thesis mainly focuses on English cooperative learning at the stage of junior middle schools. By way of theory researching and practical testing, first this paper discusses the concept meaning as well as the procedure of cooperative learning and then proceeds to analyze the current situation of English teaching in our country, especially the condition and meaning of cooperative learning in junior middle schools. Some concrete teaching samples are also analyzed in this paper to illustrate the importance of cooperative learning. Based on several years' teaching experience and investigations finally the aimed conclusion is drawn: There has been much more outstanding improvement in English learning obtained by the experimental class(cooperative learning class) than the traditional class(non-cooperative learning class).Meanwhile, this thesis also raises thinking and analysing of the misunderstanding caused by this method, and further offers some reference and suggestions to the Junior Middle School English teaching.
