Disciple's Rule(《弟子规》) is comprehensive and easy to recite, so widely circulated in the Qing Dynasty since it came out in early Qing Dynasty. In recent years, Disciple's Rule and other primer books are popular again, however, the research on Disciple's Rule is insufficient. This paper tries to focus on the its version, content, its status in traditional primer books, way of moral life education and its destiny in education reform from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China.Paper is divided into seven sections: composed of preface, five chapters and the conclusion. In the preface, it briefly introduces Li Yuxiu(李毓秀)and his Disciple's Rule, overview on previous research, study ideas and methods. In the first chapter, the paper tries to locate the position of Disciple's Rule and analyze its advantages through discussing the history of primer ethical books from the Pre-Qin Period to the early Qing Dynasty. The second chapter focuses on comparing ten versions of Disciple's Rule. Throng contrasting the words and layout of these ten versions, finding out the differences and analyzing the several aspects from meaning of word, content, time sequence of the version and so on. At last, we will conclude the best one that is published by Guangren Tong. In the third chapter, by analyzing the content source, this paper shows that Disciple's Rule imitates The Analects, The Book of Rites, Xiao Xue《(小学》),Tong Meng Xu Zh(i《童蒙须知》),Cheng Dong Xue Ze(《程董学则》),Jia Shu Chang Yi(《家塾常仪》), Xiao Xue Shi Li(《小学诗礼》). And then it discusses its content and educational value. In the fourth chapter, this paper discusses the characteristic of Chinese traditional primary education and it is moral life. Then it analyses this way of moral life education in Disciple's Rule. In the fifth chapter, we will know Disciple's Rule and its educational method which is replaced by new primer ethical books in the educative reform from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China. And I will discuss the effect of moral education during this period and point out the values of Disciple's Rule and moral life. The final chapter provides a review and conclusion of this paper's research, as well as the diction of the research in the future .
