Objective : To know the characters and to study the factors of epidemiology of sports injury of among college students of Shanghai and to provide a theoretic basis for preventing the sports injury of college students.Methods: Stratified random sampled 1410 students from grade two to grade four of fourteen colleges in Shanghai and conducted a questinonaire suvey among them. To use SPSS 17.0 to input the data and analysis the data, including stastistic of frequeency,χ2-test, t-test, correlation analysis, analysis of variance.Results1. The overall injury prevalence revealed within the sample of this study was 28.4%, and the cost of the injuries is dear.2. Most injuries occurred during sporting activity organized by student. Most injuries occurred in baskeball field. Most injuries occurred when students played baskeball. The most affected body parts was ankle followed by wrist and hand and knee. Most of the injuries were ligment sprain , muscle strains, Skin abrasion. The most manners of injuries was injured by oneself. Most injuries occurred during April to May followed by June to July. The most injuries occurred during the middle of the sporting activity. The most efficient amses was exercise in error followed by bumping by others and lacking of warming-up.3. The factors influenced the prevalence of injury were BMI, gender, time of sporting activity, the safety consciousness on sporting of students, and the steps of sports injuries prevention.Conclusion1.The incidence of sports injuries was high in shanghai college students. and the cost of the injuries is dear.2. Sports injuries of shanghai college student presented some characters according to which we can give some advices to prevent the sports injuries.3. The factors influenced the injury prevalence were BMI, gender, time of sporting activity, the safety consciousness on sporting of students, and the steps of sports injuries prevention.
