The Development And Strategies Of Entrepreneurship Education In Chinese Higher Education Institutions

Entrepreneurship education is not only the objective requirements of the development of society and higher education, but also an idea to solve practical problems. It was more than ten years, since Tsinghua University held the first enterprise planning contest. During the ten-year development, the entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions has got some results. But a number of deficiencies are still existed. If these deficiencies not be solved in time, they will come to be the factors which hider the development of the entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions.This paper carried out a questionnaire inquisition on the implementation of the entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions. Results of the research show some problems in the implementation. The problems are concentrated on four points: first, the students'concepts of employment are out-of-date, and the degree of students'entrepreneurial consciousness is low; secondly, the higher education institutions in Chinese are less of emphasis on entrepreneurship education; thirdly, the government has not do well enough in the protection of the entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions; fourthly, the entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions is lack of social supports. After the research using several methods, this paper showed four reasons: first, the conflict between the cultural traditions and the ideal of entrepreneurship education; secondly, the constraints of management system of higher education; thirdly, governments haven't done well enough in service function; fourthly, the immature of social environment to the entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education institutions.On the basic of drawing on the successful foreign experience, this paper proposed four strategies: (1) to strengthen the cultivation of students'entrepreneurial consciousness; (2) higher education institutions should put more emphasis on entrepreneurship education; (3) Chinse government should enhance the guidances and protections to entrepreneurship education; (4) to create a good social environment to promote entrepreneurship education. This paper tries to give an idea to solve the problems in the implementation and to promote the development of the entrepreneurship education in Chinese higher education instisutions.
